all moved in

so we are officially moved in! everything except for the pool table. which isn't like a major fixture for me. anyway i couldnt be happier. barrett and his dad worked really really hard this weekend and got a lot done. we have DOORS! and a mailbox and a working dryer. no more leaky toilet or kitchen sink and definitely no more blow up bed! yay! he surprised me with all of this when i got off work saturday :) now its my job to get things put away and cleaned up lol. i did the dishes tonight tho.

sunday we spent like an hour plus in Sam's spending our entire paychecks. not really but close. $230 for several years worth of trash bags, paper towels, and snacks. seriously, a box of brownies that makes 180 brownies, 3 pk of cereal in one box, 10 pk of canned beans and corn, 24 pk of breakfast bars, etc etc etc. its great.

so this weekend was super fun and i am SO glad that everything went well. all my fears and reservations were totally unfounded :) here we are on Beale St before the festivities got totally underway.

we had dinner at the Hard Rock and then we stayed at this piano bar called Silky o' Sullivans for the rest of the night and it was a really cool place. here i am with the guy from my "dare card" - my hottie who bought me a shot. he was a nice guy but really persistant. we danced a million times until i was nauseous and dizzy lol.

sunday we took barrett's dad out for fathers day and then called it a night. we've been packing and i've been taking things to the new house all last week and this week but friday is THE DAY. all the major big appliances and bed and dresser will be moved by then :) yay!

i'm so tired of talking about everything and just ready to be done with it!

vodka-redbull... yum

so i have had an entirely too crappy week thus far.
this weekend i'm going to a bachelorette party in memphis. *read - spending a lot of money*
and then monday night my freakin driver window motor breaks.
monday night we duct tape, thats right, duct tape the driver window up
and tuesday when i drive to walmart on my day off, it falls down while i'm inside... during a major rain storm. so i drive home sitting in a wet seat with rain pouring in my totally open window :(
wednesday we find out it will take $200 to fix the window on top of deciding we need to do a 2nd coat of paint on the floors in the new house ($40)
this morning barrett takes the jeep to get the window permanently fixed in the UP position until we can afford to get it fixed, aka 1 month from now. and i get our extra can of paint. come to find out, they cant just close the window, they have to fix it if we want it to stay up SO there goes $170.
this afternoon, i go to sam's to get cups for the bachelorette jello shots, which they dont have and forget to look for security lights like barrett has asked me to do a million times. then i go to liquor store for vodka for said jello shots ($15) then i go to drop off a load of stuff at the new house.
upon entering new house, i find a big puddle of water in the kitchen where there is a ginormous leak in the ceiling, kill me now.
which brings us to current time - here i sit, vodka/redbull #2 in hand. feeling much better, but now i have to pee.
bummer.

so its been an eventful weekend.

friday night barrett was in a "Womanless Beauty Pageant" which, as it sounds, was pretty darn interesting. I did his make up and provided some accessories. the damage:

thats right - a blonde bob, floor length sparkly gown, and a feather boa. i'm not sure how much money he raised but it was worth it to see anyway!

saturday i worked a rough day with 2 euthanasia's and a major tick infestation case that was just so sad. but at least the puppy will have a very good home!

i stopped by the new place saturday night after work just to see if the water was running and it turns out the power was on! i was so excited bc this meant we could stay at the house on our blow up bed. unfortunately, by the time barrett got off work and we got settled at the house it was almost 4 am when we went to sleep.

first thing this morning we headed out to home depot and petsmart to pick up things for delilah, hefner, and the new place and then we got to work! i dont want to post any 'after' pics yet because i havent put up any house pics at all. but let me just say that i am SO excited at how everything turned out with our painting today :)

i'm looking for this one dress that i saw on Say Yes to the Dress (on TLC which i watch every friday) that is pretty simple but has some beautiful, elegant draping that kind of twists around to the back. anyway i came across this one in my search and its gorgeous.

i think this is original dress i was trying to find (without the big bow on the shoulder) but i remember the top being a little more simple. the same sweetheart neckline and strapless but no layered looking stuff.

i just can't stop

i'm addicted to spilling my beans! i know that 4 blogs in one day is really just too much but i figure since this is day one whoever may be reading this might want some background info and i'm all about the background info.

thats right, i'm the girl who will turn the response to "how have you been?" into a full fledged life story. i can't help it, i've always been this way. so please allow me to at least glaze over some things.

uh i think i left off with our decision to move in together in Carthage. yes so I moved at the beginning of August 09 and started school a week or 2 later. i was already on the job hunt from the moment i got here but still no luck a month in. class, however, was going well and i was really enjoying it. i love to meet new people and have new experiences. we started our 1st year vet tech class with like 29-ish people and we finished this may with 16 i think. some didn't last through week 2 because they realized this wasn't for them. others fell short with grades or had attendance issues. anyway i like that we've pared down the classmates bc now the remainder of us are serious about what we're doing and trying to do well. but i digress...

so October rolls around and after dropping off 6 or 8 resumes for a week or two before that i get an interview with a same day hire october 5th. my interview was great bc the doctor was doing surgery the entire time we were talking. anyway, I now work for Banfield, the Pet Hospital at two different locations in Jackson. my title is PetNurse, which i secretly love :) and i have been learning SO MUCH. not one day goes by where i dont learn something at school and/or work which makes me so happy. i hope that i can still say that 5 years from now.

anyway, here i am - making things work with barrett and loving life. the past 6+ months haven't been all rainbows and smiley faces tho. my commute to school every morning was about an hour and 20 minutes which started to really wear me down after only a few weeks and a source of major complaining for me. aside from that, barrett and i went through a major bump right before thanksgiving that i wont get into the details of. but it was rough for a little while and i wont lie, its still in the back of my mind sometimes. we're doing pretty great lately though. it helps a lot that i'm out of school for the summer and since we both go to work in the afternoons (i'm part time and he works 2nd shift at the plant) we get to spend a lot more time together <3>

I'm just really happy at how things are working out for us because a majority of our relationship was semi-long distance when he graduated the year before I did. so to go from that to 24/7 cohabitation with only a few snags is pretty good i guess.

alright i'm fairly certain everyone (all 2 of you) is pretty well informed as of now...
