so i'm dying to get to current events - AKA our new place we're fixing up. but if i get all exicted over that then i'll never get back to how i got here anyway. so here goes.
so i grew up in Birmingham, AL and went to college for pre-veterinary medicine at
Mississippi State University in Starkville. i LOVED my 4 years there and i got my best friends and boyfriend out of the deal too :) i did fairly well in most all of my classes except for the serious sciences (chem 1 & 2, physics, biochem, etc) which meant i didnt have the best GPA for my vet med application. so a few months before graduation, i applied and sure enough was not given a prelim interview bc of my math/science GPA. well this was devestating as it derailed my train i'd been riding for oh, the past 6 or so years.
i say all of this though to get to the point that i think my rejection was a blessing in disguise. i realized over the summer after my graduation that i wouldnt have been happy there anyway! i went back to work for my old vet clinic (Liberty Animal Hospital) as a vet tech and realized how much happier i was when i could concentrate on working and not stressing over every test score and my next application.
alright, enough of my ranting over that phase of life. on to the better more recent part - my decision to go to vet tech school. this decision was bolstered by many thoughts - there's a school in Jackson, MS (closer to Barrett), it's cheaper and less stressful than vet school, and i don't have to live at home with my parents! so after i got my ducks in a row with school i had to figure out the living arrangements with NO money. when i moved i would have to find a job. SO i took a giant leap of faith and asked barrett to move in with me in Jackson. he works in Carthage at Tyson Foods, which is about a 45 min drive outside of jackson so i didn't think it unreasonable. However, I didn't factor in how much more expensive it was to live in the city rather than the middle of nowhere. so the more practical decision came - i would move in with him in Carthage and commute.
well i'm all 'typed' out... more later
